標題是"天留我不留"的老梗

去年11月A's送出CF Carlos Gonzalez+LHP Greg Smith+CL Huston Street，向Rockies換來06-08三屆國聯銀棒獎、07年多項國聯打擊獎(打擊率、安打、打點等)得主Matt Holliday。Holliday合約仍剩2009一年13.5M要走，再加上他的經紀人是替客戶爭取大合約著名的Scott Boras，於是開季前大家都心知肚明，明年將不會看到他續披A's球衣，只是在這停留多久的問題

而Holliday的表現在五月中旬才開始加溫，當時傳出鄰居Giants在找棒子，後來又將他於"購物清單"中剔除掉

5/27，先由當地媒體舊金山紀事報探討起這個議題 (How long will Holliday remain with A's? by Susan Slusser):球隊在接著幾年會缺3B與SS，這或許是交易Holliday的方向之ㄧ。而球隊眼前的問題還有是否要將Bobby Crosby交易掉，有一些球隊或許需要補middle infielder (Rays-岩村整季報銷，Mets-Jose Reyes在DL...等等)

那Holliday對於他自身的交易傳聞有什麼看法呢?

"I try not to think about that. I try to come to the field with the same approach on a day-to-day basis. I just try to have some good at-bats and help the team win. If you listen to all the talk, all the media stuff, it's a challenge.
"我試著不去想那些(交易)，努力打好每場比賽，並幫助球隊 (OAK)贏球。如果你仔細聽媒體所談，那(想要把球打好)還真是個挑戰 (意指使人分心)"

"It would be great to stay here, sure, absolutely. I hope we can get things turned around and finish with a great season. That's always been the best scenario."
"能待在這真的很好，我希望我們能有些轉變，並以美好的球季作收。那(對於職棒球隊與球員來說)總是最好的腳本"

"I'd like for this team to get hot and do something special. No one is running away with this division, and we have plenty of chances to play those teams."
"我想為這支球隊有所表現。這分區沒有哪隊是失控 (脫離戰線/一支獨秀)的，我們還有很多機會與他們交手"

A's在接下來的五天只贏了一場，也使得Holliday的態度有些轉變。6/2，Holliday在全國聯播的廣播節目中提到 (Holliday explains expectations with A's by Mychael Urban):如果OAK不振作些，他希望7/31前被交易出去

訪談中首先談到，球隊是否有跟他談想要延長合約

"They have not approached me or my representation at all," Holliday said. "I would assume that being a smaller-market team that is into developing young players currently, that they will probably either trade me at some point or take their [compensatory] draft picks [for losing a Type A free agent] at the end of the year.
"他們並沒有跟我接觸"Holliday說 "我猜想做為一支小市場球隊以培養年輕球員為主，球隊將可能適時把我交易出去，或是等球季結束後(我成為type A然後與他隊簽約)獲得補償選秀權"

接著，他被問到想被交易還是在奧克蘭打完本季剩餘球賽 ?

"I'd like for this to work out. I've had a great time with my teammates and have really appreciated the way this organization has treated me in this first couple of months. The guys have been great, and I see a lot of potential in this team, but we obviously aren't playing very well.
"我想為我們球隊表現，我跟隊友們處得很好，我真的很感激球隊對待我的方式。這些傢伙個性都很不錯，我也見到球隊充滿潛力；但是我們真的打得不好"

"We got off to a rough start and we've had some injuries and find ourselves 10 or 11 games back in the race. So I would say if it looks like we're not going to be able to get back into the race or get healthy, I think every player wants a chance to win, and I'm no exception. I'd love to play in the postseason again. That was the time of my life in baseball ... getting a chance to play in the postseason in 2007.
(大意是:A's有個壞的開季，並且有一些傷兵。如果無法在分區保有競爭力/保持健康的話，Holliday想要去能打季後賽的球隊)

最後被問到，若球季結束後，洛磯在FA市場追他，他會想回去嗎?

"I would consider it -- yeah, absolutely. I had a great time there," he said. "I think one of the big [considerations] for me is going to be winning. I really want to play in the postseason. I've been part of one really good team and several not-so-good teams, and I tell you, the one that ... won and went to the postseason was tons more fun than the ones where you're done come the end of September."

"If it looks like they're willing to maybe field a really good team, I'd definitely consider them. But at the same time, like I said, I want to play for a winning team -- and right now they're struggling. But they have a lot of young talent and some good players, so I would consider it."
"若Rockies看起來會變成一支不錯的球隊，我絕對會考慮它。但我想為能贏球的隊伍效力的念頭沒變，目前他們打得有些掙扎；不過他們有一群有天份的球員與一些好球員，所以我還是會考慮"

到了6/4，Cardinals的教頭Tony La Russa說他們在找尋大棒子來保護三棒的Albert Pujols (La Russa says Cards looking for big bat by Matthew Leach)

La Russa更提到了Holliday的名字，不過Cards不會提出不合理的交易籌碼。(Contra Costa Times的Jon Becker認為Cards應該要放去年第一輪13順位的三壘手Brett Wallace [註1]，A's會有興趣的)

(個人認為SS Tyler Greene也可以是個選項)

但對於A's來說，目前這個時間點若將Holliday交易掉，並不是十分恰當。一來隊上又回到缺右手砲的隊形 (Holliday目前以37分打點，OPS.850暫居球隊榜首。5/12~6/6 25場的三圍是.381/ .509/ .595 4 HR 17 RBI)，再者近期球隊處在連勝的高檔，對於年輕rotation來說，能獲得隊友越多的火力支援，也有助於心理層面的穩定

個人覺得除非其他球隊能提出令人抗拒不了的菜單，否則GM Beane應該是會把Holliday留到球季結束，待列為Type A FA的Holliday不接受A's仲裁與他隊簽約後，獲得2010年的兩個補償選秀權 (豆爺的選秀魔法再現?!)

Holliday也必須極力向外界證明，他不是Coors Field限定!

1. 自Mazzaro debut後 (6/2-6/7)，A's本季首度連勝超過三場，目前六連勝持續中。對O's的系列賽也是本季首度sweep對手

3. 恭喜Bobby Crosby喜獲麟兒。6/7打到第七局Crosby接獲電話說他老婆要生了，總教練Geren讓他趕緊過去醫院。Crosby老婆順利產下一名男嬰

三憂
1. 長中繼右手牛Dan Giese需要開TJ (Tommy John surgery)
2. 綠帽的傷病風似乎也吹向所屬的minor，17歲的top prospect Michael Ynoa傳出手肘痛的消息。目前照過MRI，接著要給醫生看看
3. 在陳穎家看到陳鏞基近日將開刀解決膝蓋舊傷。目前在河貓官網與SacBee.com皆未找到相關新聞

其他
1.好一陣子沒見到Ryan Sweeney了!他在6/2出戰White Sox時撞上了中外野全壘打牆，導致左膝有些扭傷。被列為day-to-day的他可望在6/8或6/9上場。這陣子的CF是Rajai Davis, RF大多交給Aaron Cunningham
2.去年至今，Jack Hannaahan已連續69場防守三壘沒出現失誤，打破了Chavy的連65場
3. Justin Duchscherer持續復健中，球隊再次考慮將他定位於牛棚

老同學在Rockies
1.Huston Street仍擔任CL的角色，G 24 W1-L1-S8 ERA 3.27 WHIP 1.18, 24 SO 7 BB
2.Carlos Gonzalez於6/5被Rockies叫上去。他今年在3A Colorado Springs Sky Sox的成績為: .339/ .418/ .630 2B:12 3B:7 HR:10 in 192 AB
3.Greg Smith因肩膀疲勞 (fatigue)錯過了本季前五週的比賽，5/14與5/19於高階1A Modesto Nuts先發過兩場，5/25在3A先發五局只被敲出1支安打無失分；但投了65球的他便因肩膀僵硬 (stiffness)退場。MRI結果顯示無結構性的傷害，Smith目前列為7-day DL
4. 硬伯 (Alan Embree): 16 IP W1-L2 ERA 6.19 WHIP 1.75, 9 SO 8 BB
